charlie  likes  to  think  he  can  function  properly  with  a  minimal  intake  of  caffeine  on  a  daily  basis,  typically  reserving  his  one  cup  for  the  morning  so  it  can  hold  him  over  throughout  the  work  day.  well  …  as  much  as  it  could  when  bleary  eyes  stare  down  at  multiple  site  plans  in  the  span  of  eight  hours  that  have  to  edited  or  re-drawn  and  generally  prove  true  his  optometrist's  words  of  having  to  get  reading  glasses  soon.  it’s  whatever.  a  problem  for  another  day  that  isn’t  now.  now  is  when  he’s  meeting  cj  at  caffélicious,  post  big  birthday  palooza  and  newly  anointed  thirty-three.  “whatever  you’re  getting,  you  look  like  you  need  an  extra  shot  of  espresso,”  charlie  teases  lightly,  a  grin  pulling  at  his  features  as  he  glances  over  to  his  old  friend.  “that  was  a  great  party  you  threw,  man.  didn’t  know  you  still  had  it  in  you  to  get  banned  somewhere.  was  the  bowling  your  idea  ??”

“You think Jean Bean will, like, worry about us or whatever if we get a room for the night?” The question came out randomly, not relevant to the conversation they were having at all, as Seb’s eyes drifted away from the giant sign that advertised a ten percent discount on a stay at the hotel and back to CJ. They were sitting on a recently vacated couch just outside the ballroom, left promptly by some touchy couple who probably hurried to take up the same offer — and now that they were sitting here, it was all that he could think about too. With how fancy this place was, the aforementioned hotel rooms had to be fucking insane. And ten percent off most likely didn’t make them cheap, in the grand scheme of things, but whatever price they had to pay would be so worth it. He’d gladly fork over some winnings from his latest fight for a chance to sleep with the undoubtedly luxurious bedding, shower with the fanciest tiny bottles of care products, and eat all the complimentary snacks with his best friend. “I think it’s a good idea, man. Like, I’ve never stayed here before but they’ve gotta have the biggest bathtub in these rooms known to man or somethin’! The comfiest beds ever! The most fancy-ass free snacks!” He leaned closer to CJ, his eyes a bit puppy-like as he continued to stare at him, waiting for approval.

"Thanks for helping me carry all this stuff up here, man. I know it's a lot but this is definitely faster than lugging it up the stairs myself," Sebastian said, looking up to CJ from where he followed behind, hefty suitcase in hand. It probably would've been a lot easier if he had the forethought of packing all of his belongings in uniformly shaped boxes, but — oh well, too late. They only had a few more trips to go in order for all of Sebastian's miscellaneous crap to be officially inside the apartment; unpacking it all was another beast that he surely wouldn't tackle until next week, maybe. Whenever he got the furniture in. "I'm, like, so excited to live here, you've got no idea. My brother's been nagging me for months about finding my own place — and I love him, y'know? But now he's gonna be off my back about it, and I've got two cool new roommates." Once they made it up the stairs, Sebastian set the bag down with a huff, leaning against it for a moment to catch his breath. "Makes me feel sad for that Todd guy you guys keep talking about. He's clearly missin' out."

harvey's bare elbows scrape roughly against the outside of the building as he pushes himself up from his leaning position at cj's arrival. normally, he'd try to blend into the shadows as best he could, or on some occasions they'd both have the thought to pretend not to notice one another's presence entirely on their own. but the twinkling lights on his halo are hard to ignore, and he'd rather be the bigger person. it was satisfying, beating cj to a kindness "hey. getting into your saturday best?" or sunday best, he supposes, if he was going to don wings. vee thinks if he were in cj's shoes he'd take the chance to wear the horns, though. he drops the cigarette in his hand, stomping it out to get to the front door first, holding it open with a nod.

Kellan’s anxious to get home. He wants nothing more than to change out of his suit and get into jeans and a t-shirt. Something comfortable. Enough that he can race the ever loving fuck out of his car against a stranger and somehow look casual as he does it. Unfortunately, he’s stuck at this cocktail hour of the creme de la creme of Charleston business types for at least another half hour. Spotting a familiar face, he finishes off his whiskey and orders another one. “Hey,” he greets, telling himself that he couldn’t immediately dive into asking about his sister. “How’s it going?” He gestures to their surroundings. “Wanna bet on who’s gonna get sloppy tonight?”
