𝐛𝐞𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 trying, recognizing him before her brain caught up. she hadn’t run into jackie in a while. not because of anything he’d done. she just steered clear of reapers when she could. lately though, they seemed to materialize everywhere she went. “well, i’ll be damned,” she called out, voice pitched just enough to carry over the music. she came up alongside him, giving him a once-over that was deliberately exaggerated, brows lifting like she was assessing a completely different person. “jackie? is that you? wow.” a soft, incredulous laugh slipped out as she shook her head. “you look so grown up now. what happened? you finally hit puberty or something?” she’d always loved busting his balls, acting like he was so young when only four years sat between them. “it’s been a minute,” she went on, leaning back slightly, angling toward him. “what’ve you been getting up to?” she took a sip of her drink, then added like it just occurred to her, “you know, i was at the old rider the other day.” a small tilt of her head, watching him now. “place looks exactly the same.”

Jackie, 

Since we’ve been talking about movies so much, and I had a sneaky suspicion that you haven’t seen there, I got you a collection of Mel Brooks movies. I promise they are hilarious and great, but if you hate them, hopefully you won’t hate me. To go with your movies, I figured I’d get you a snack bucket, because what’s a movie without snacks?
