parties mean dangerous situations for kota. it means watching just how much she can drink without acting like a complete fool not only around others, but around herself. it’s not a side of her she really favors, unlike most people her age. so she nurses the red solo cup of jungle juice she’s had for the past thirty minutes, making sure not to finish it as fast as some of the other guests are. it’s only her second one and she’s halfway through it, but the effects of alcohol only just start to hit her as her vision gets slightly blurry. she’s not that worried yet, but it’s never too early to go searching for a bottle of water.
not even bothering to mumble apologies to the already drunk crowd she’s squeezing through, kota makes it to the hall that she thinks leads to the kitchen. it’s an educated guess, considering she’s never been to this guy’s house in her entire life. or if she has, it was too long ago. her guess is more than wrong, considering that even in her state, she notices she’s in the hall of off-limits rooms. except there’s one other there, and it doesn’t take a genius to recognize the blonde mop of hair as soon as she sees it. “no matter how hard i try,” she laughs, even taking a sip from her cup before replying, “i can never avoid you, can i?”
