Snow sat in the bathroom stall finishing her lunch. She had faced a day of ridicule for her strong accent. She tried speaking slow, that didn’t help. She tried fast, that hadn’t either. If only she could blend in like her mother had– her mother had originally been from the States and she was sure her father had mentioned that she grew up some years of her life there. Why did she have to be such an oddball? She partially blamed hanging out with Riker, Riot, and Naomi. Maybe they were the reasons she turned out so strange. Soon fat globs of tears ran down her cheeks as Snow wept quietly, not wanting anyone to hear her outside the stall. But it seemed like her stall mate had the same idea that she did. But her crying was a bit louder. If she wasn’t mistaken Snow swore that she heard gagging and the sound of heavy liquid hitting more liquid. Then there was a toilet flush. Snow wiped her eyes with the back of her palm, picking up a loose roll of toilet paper and holding it under their joined side of the stall. A thanks was heard, and Snow smiled– but she had almost been frightened to speak to the girl next to her. The mystery girl had introduced herself as Mackenzie, waiting for Snow to return the favor but when the raven haired preteen didn’t Mackenzie let out a heavy sigh. Snow heard the sound of the stall click on the mystery gi–no! Mackenzie’s end, and she didn’t want to miss her chance. Maybe Mackenzie wouldn’t judge her? Who knew… So, she quickly opened her own stall exclaiming, “Wait!” Which seemed to take the girl aback, the chubby blonde watched Snow carefully with big blue eyes. Which resulted in Snow being even moreso nervous than before. “M’ Snow, I’m not from around here. It’s a pleasure to meet you Mackenzie. Do you watch South Park on the box? Good fooking show, reyt?” She tried, her cheeks flushing. The blonde was smiling from ear to ear and it had been contagious. From then on the two girls never spent lunch in the bathroom, but instead enjoying each other’s company away from middle school bullshit at an isolated end of a loners table. Those days had become the happiest of Snow’s life.
