"what am i?" - mark (WHY THE HELL DID I NOT DO THIS EARLIER I WANT TO SEE THE CONFLICTING RESULTS)
send me a “what am i?” for my muse to describe yours in three words.
*fanfic author vc* in which mark is too many things to too many people.
to start, mark is a savior: a knight in shining dragon’s armor, adorned with the unique ability to speak directly to the animal beneath—and be understood. a beast tamer. a long-held breath finally released. the angel that appears before man, promising of a better life through their wisdom. the stone tablets carried down from the mountain. the serpent that liberated adam and eve, gave them free choice in a world where they were doomed to never grow and change.
next, mark is a teacher: a guiding force. the experience they need to live a life that isn’t drenched in fear. a kind and patient man. helping thy neighbor. someone who’s lived through hell, a familiar hell, and still come out on the other side. someone that he could grow to trust in, believe in, and admire. someone willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. harsh, but necessary truths.
finally, mark is absolution: a forgiveness to the sin of being of another kind. a steady hand placed upon unsteady shoulders. a rock. a barrier. an anchor. a father figure. an understanding that they can’t find anywhere else. the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. being forgiven for his trespasses, the sins of the terrible beast that lurks within. finding hope in the future. finding forgiveness for the past.
JB: I'll draw it prettily. (♡)

a cigarette hung loosely from her lips as she stood outside the leaky cauldron. she needed a minute to get away from the event. it felt stifling, to be around so many people after everything that had happened. there was a cacophony of sounds and voices, all of which had an underlying tone of ... dejection. but one word cut through the noise - a name. mark. her eyes quickly fell to the wizard. the last time she had seen him he was just a cheerful fourteen year old, ready to dominate the quidditch world. but that was ages ago. everyone’s changed, it was the price of war - at least for those who fought in it.
walking towards the wizard, she took a long drag from her cigarette. blowing a puff of smoke out of the corner of her mouth, she offered a smile. “it’s been a while.”

jordan has no idea what made him to come their secret spot. maybe he always felt safe and comfort from the spot. but after the day he had, he needed to feel that way again. usually in his career of choice, he made other’s feel that way. he runs his fingers through his hair, sitting down on the tree stump. this secret spot he is referring to is a small area in the woods with a hanging rundown bench from some tall trees. yet, he doesn’t remember any cut down trees the last time he came here. then again, he hasn’t been back to this spot in a few months. he glances down at his hands as a few tears fall down from his face. he couldn't understand how his fiancee could leave him at the altar like that. “nice to know that love is a joke.” he muttered bitterly, patting his hands on his dress pants. despite feeling embarrassed and betrayal, he just wished they would call him. to at least explain what happen. even if he forgave them, how could they come back from that? he hears footsteps coming towards him and quickly lifts his head up. his eyes widen slightly at seeing mark, he brings his hands to his face as he wipes his tears away. “hey.” he clears his throat, speaking quickly, “sorry i didn’t think anyone else would be here...but why are you here?” he stands up awkwardly, hating how he is standing in front of him in a dishevel tuxedo.

With the school year wrapping up and the summer season quickly approaching, it was only natural that one of Ariel’s biggest concerns was being unable to see her friends anymore. She was an extremely social butterfly, you could say, and graduating from kindergarten to the first grade was a significantly big transition for her age. Aside from the obvious realization that she would be going to an entirely new school next year, Ariel seemed to recognize pretty early on that she wouldn’t be with the same people come Fall. Of course --- Daehyun tried to calm her down, tell her that she’ll make new friends, and still be able to see the old ones. But she was frantic regardless of what her father told her, and he was at a loss of what to say to ease her mind. The only thing he could really think of was to prove to her that she’ll be just fine, and thus, he set up a play date with AJ and Mark’s daughter for that afternoon. One of the families that Daehyun was closest to, if only because the kids were like attracting magnets since the day they first met.
Now, Daehyun was pulling up to the house, and Ariel barely gave him time to put the vehicle in park before she was rushing to undo her car seat. More than excited, all of her previous worries washed away for the moment, she ran up to the door and impatiently waited for Daehyun to catch up. “Appa, hurry up!” she urged, and turned around to ring the doorbell. A minute or so passed, wherein Daehyun had to remind Ariel not to press the button more than once, before the door opened. Surprise was somewhat of an understatement when Mark was on the other side --- if he was honest, he fully expected AJ. “Hey, Mark. Uh --- we’re not too early, are we?”
