“hey—uh…noemi isn’t it?” alfie had recognized the girl from the few times he had met Esmeralda outside of her classes so the two could walk back to his place together. “Esmeralda is in one of your classes, she picked this up after you left it in there and I was about to return it to the classroom for you to find but I figured since I saw you already I might as well give it to you now” alfie reached down into his backpack to pull out a folder full of whatever kind of work it is that nursing majors do—he honestly had no idea. “She’s told me you guys have a final coming up next week, are you prepared at all?” he asked her, leaning against the wall next to her as he engaged in a bit of small talk.

Noemi is a know-it-all, fiery teen girl with a fighting streak. The daughter of Marcello's aunt, a stern lawyer named Francesca, Noemi has never been shy about voicing her disdain for Marcello. Whenever the two enter a room together, she is quick to push his buttons and provoke him into an argument, which inevitably ends in the older boy getting scolded by the matriarchs of the family. She is intelligent and forthright, though rather vindictive and condescending at times. Her closeness with Benny, Marcello's sister, irritates him to no end, and he constantly accuses Noemi of attempting to corrupt the other girl. No doubt she fuels Marcello's prejudice against the British.
