Though when his eyes land on Talia Demir, it all seems to fade for a few moments, tilting his head at the sight of her. “Did your fiancé give you a midnight kiss?” Immature, maybe so, but it’s not unknown that he enjoys taunting her. She does bring out the worst in him... and that says a lot given James is a horrible person.

    “you look incredible by the way , i don’t think i told you when we were back at high volume ,” mack commented with her arm linked with talia’s as they walked onto the scene . it was LOUD and crowded which normally summed up places mack would rather avoid . but she remained optimistic about the night ahead of them , starting off strong with one of her favorite people by her side . “i think i might need some more of that liquid courage if ’m going to survive tonight ,” she admitted softly , as if it was a secret meant only to be shared between the two of them . the corners of her lips upturned as she looked to talia with a hopeful gleam in her eye . “you ... me ... shots ? like the good old days ?”

– HONESTLY, BLAIR IS HARDLY LISTENING TO THE MUSIC AT THIS POINT. it’s noise, but it’s the best kind, and there’s a feeling of WARMTH that comes from dancing with talia. blair knows better than to place comfort in a person by now, she’s the textbook example for why people aren’t dependable, but arms draped over talia’s shoulders on the outskirts of the pit IS a safe place, there’s no hiding from the fact. 

“ okay, so apparently i’m not the ONLY person to have noticed how hot you are tonight, ” blair remarks, tugging talia a little closer so that she can speak into her ear. “ that guy right there has been checking you out for AGES. ” kind of a bitch, in blair’s opinion, because if she saw talia across the dance floor, she’d totally hit her up, and that’s why she’s currently dancing with her and not the guy beside them.

          WHEN  TEDDY  WAS  sixteen  and  working  as  a  server  at  a  diner  in  chicago,  talia  became  a  regular.  he  always  thought  she  was  really  sweet  and  pretty,  and  he  made  conscious  efforts  to  memorize  her  usual  orders—  there  was  even  a  time  at  one  point,  around  when  he  lost  his  virginity  to  her,  that  talia  was  known  as  diner  girl  by  teddy’s  friends.  they  never  met  her,  of  course,  which  only  gave  them more  reasons  to  believe  that  talia  wasn’t  a  real  person.
