IT HAD BEEN a busy day at the shop, they ended up closing fairly late but he didn’t mind, all in all, it made his wallet thicker and honestly he was a bit of a night owl. maybe it was because all these voices in his head kept him up at night, the what-ifs of his past circling his brain while he laid in bed. so working late was never a problem for him, kept him out of trouble, even if he missed trouble far too much. pulling up outside the apartment complex, he parked his motorcycle in the usual spot, slipping his helmet off over his head as he let out a sigh of relief. it wasn’t until he heard a car door slam nearby that he glanced over his shoulder, fingers carding through his hair, when he stopped dead in his tracks. “veronica?” it came out without him meaning it to, because he didn’t know if he was seeing things or that was actually her. his heart was pounding in his ears, JD didn’t typically get throw off his path but seeing her certainly had him stuck in place.
