i knew i loved you then, but you’d never know. cause i played it cool when i was scared of letting go.
exasperated. sad. mad. and ultimately alone. zach has been avoiding her for days on end and joyce has no idea why or what she did wrong for this to have happened, especially when she’s been busy planning a surprise for the boy she adores more than anything in the world. she’s cried to both of her best friends about the situation, eloise comforting her while skye spoke her plan of kicking his ass into oblivion, which didn’t sound too bad at the time, because if anything, joyce may be depressed, but she’s also angry and when she catches sight of him, she’s definitely going to talk some sense into him.
the princess is walking to her history class, swerving around schoolmates to get there, and that’s when she sees him for the first time since sunday. huffing, the fourth year marches right up to zachary, spinning him around to face her, cheeks flushed in irritation. a finger pokes right to his chest, digging in harshly. “you. mind explaining what’s going on because i’m confused as heck on why you’ve been making excuses not to meet up with me.”
she’s so angry, her eyes well up with tears as she waits for a believable explanation. the halls are nearly empty now, students having rushed into their classrooms. “if you don’t feel anything for me anymore, just say it and stop wasting my time.” the statement slips out without a second thought, her heart hurting inside her chest.
