Streak of sunlight
Aoife blinked several times at the bright streak of sunlight that crept between the crack in the curtains before pulling the covers over her head and opening her eyes in the dull glow she had created. Her eyes still felt gritty and heavy and it took her a moment to remember what had happened the night before. Edging her head out from the blankets she noted the bright sunlight and reaching for her phone was surprised by just how late it was. It made sense though when she thought about it. It had been well into the early hours of the morning before they had actually got to bed and her body had surrendered to the exhaustion.
Slipping out of bed silently she looked at Sam’s soft features, peaceful and calm as she slept and Aoife found her heart aching again for the woman and all her troubles. She crept out of the bedroom and took a quick shower before she pulled on jeans and a shirt and headed into the kitchen to make some breakfast. Putting on the coffee she wondered if Sam would want anything and should she wake her up but to each question she asked she found herself replying that she didn’t know. It was unusual for the blonde to be so indecisive but by the time the coffee was ready she still had no answer to her questions and so she poured a cup of coffee and sat down at the table with a book to keep herself occupied until either Sam got up or Aoife made a decision.
