There was no feeling quite as thrilling to Rachel as pre-show jitters. Granted, Rachel was not quite putting on a show, nor was she even technically stepping on a stage. But nonetheless, Rachel, standing in the doorway of the 42nd Street Broadway Rehearsal Space, was preparing herself for the performance of a lifetime.
Sure, the past year-and-a-half had not gone to plan. Her incredible television flop, paired with her shameful retreat to Lima, Ohio, would, for less-talented individuals, mark the end of a short-lived career. But not for Rachel Berry. Rachel was determined to work harder than ever to earn her deserving shot at Broadway fame, so that this embarrassment of the past was not even a smudge on the shiny star that was her career.
Rachel repeated these words to herself, as she made her way to the rehearsal space for Charged. Confidence: that is all she needed. The rest would come easily. Especially if she has chemistry with her Tino, who, mysteriously, she had yet to meet, let alone know the name of. But... maybe she did. Walking into the rehearsal space, she was greeted by the back of a very familiar looking man. “Jesse? What are you doing here?”
