Ghost!
You’re walking through the graveyard next to the town looking for the gym and you fall down a hole. And theres a whole creepy house underground that you have to fight your way back up to the surface! The gym leader is standing at the surface waiting for you and this music is playing.

My ideal normal type gym would be an office building where you have to fight increasingly begrudging office workers and at the end is a guy whose pokemon fight looks and sounds a little like this video.

Its a gold mine where you have to walk in pitch black for a long time, but there are clues as to which way to go, and gold nuggets shining at you along the way! The gym leader is a guy who lost his flashlight and needs you to walk him back up to the surface.
