The silence, while serene, lasts only a second before Katsuki begrudgingly taps at the edge of his communicator. “If you’re callin' me before I’m even out the door this shit had better be importa-” “Good morning!” is chirped with the enthusiasm of a blackbird the moment stars blink away from midnight skies. Katsuki can't help but wince when it brings with it a very specific ring of tinnitus, can't help but grimace when the nausea from before swells as his stomach swoops. “I knew you’d have your costume on at this time! I think I know you better than the back of my hand, you know -” “Deku.” “Oh.” A quick pause is all it takes for the uncertainty in Izuku’s voice to make the hand curled around a gauntlet freeze. “I didn’t realise this would make your character regress, Kacchan. Do you wanna be back at 15 that bad?” And a teasing tone is all it takes for Katsuki to wish that the man was there so he could throw it in his goddamn face.
Or: On a morning that started just like any other, Katsuki finds himself enjoying his new normal.
