real quick interest check. hi deadlock fans :)
how would we feel about an apollo crashout fic
YES
NO
and im talking FULL crashout. off the rails.
It was raining but there was no chill in the air to make him shiver through his soaked through clothes. Blood trailed from the wound behind his ear to trail down the back of his neck and beneath the collar of the brown leather jacket, dark splotches splattered over the shoulder. His head throbbed painfully, radiating over his neck and shoulders. But there were no memories of what happened or where he was.
Who he was.
All he could do was walk down the street - Bourbon Street, stopping to check the name on a street sign - and occasionally peek in store windows in hopes he might see something he recognized. Black eyes didn't see the ones watching him from the shadows nor stalking him from the rooftops. He continued walking down the sidewalk, trying to figure out where he was and why he was there.
@emmatriarchy
@camotix : "i'm not going to hurt you." espio is far from a pacifist, but they've heard enough to not want a fight here. they briefly hold out their hands as if to say 'see?? no weapons.' before crossing their arms. besides — something about the kid's appearance nags at his mind. "[ ... ] i'm espio." // for kit!!
The words are no comfort / Kitsunami flinches away from the other, even as apparently unarmed as he appears. Surge says that everyone wants to hurt the. Surge says the whole world wants them dead. SURGE KNOWS EVERYTHING / SURGE IS PERFECT / SURGE IS WHY HE EXISTS. Surge — isn't here, doesn't know he's here, and that leaves Kit feeling cornered, bad at making his own choices. They're afraid but they're not drowning the other. Not yet. Tendrils of water curl instead of the frightened fox, protective.
They would always be afraid, but being in THIS PLACE makes it unfathomably worse. He'd wrecked almost all of the lab when he and Surge had fled after the last fight, but since she'd awoken, Surge keeps talking about returning, about their pasts — HE DOESN'T WANT PASTS. HE BARELY WANTS A FUTURE. He'd come back to destroy the last of it before she could try to return, as if the lack of this place might enable him to trick her into giving up — the last of the tubes and the last of the fields Starline had used to test and kill them. There shouldn't be anyone else here. NO PERSON SHOULD BE HERE, IN THIS PLACE WHERE TWO UNPERSONS WERE MADE AND KILLED.
"E — Espio ——" They whisper, repeating the sound back like they're testing it out. Espio. Another person in the world. It's so jarring, to remember that the world isn't just Surge and Sonic and Tails and Starline and him. It doesn't feel fair. His terror is so all - consuming / his agony so big and so specific all at once / what right does anyone else have to exist? To exist free of pain? It isn't fair. It isn't ———
This person says they won't hurt him. Espio says they won't hurt him. Kit doesn't believe that, but he wants to. He wants so badly to believe someone, anyone won't hurt him. Even Surge hurts him, sometimes. "I — I'm Kit....Kitsunami. I d - don't — understand why anyone would come here." No one should come here.
