Remembering when my dad was talking about how he and his wife's jobs are unionized and how thats good and necessary but continued to Insist that retail workers don't deserve a union and "unions are still bad except when they benefit Me" and im Infuriated all over again.

The Force Awakens was great for female audiences because it gave women a hero’s adventure without forcibly reminding women of the often very gender-specific violence they would encounter for their gender.

The Last Jedi doesn’t because it refuses to let women be a hero without having those same gender-specific fears and discomforts be thrust upon them repeatedly during the movie.
