Hi, the hack was real and not only Ethan was hacked, I know of one more person and more people were notified of suspicious activities via mail or text msg. And it is still happening.
Is it true he was catfishing people? That's another rumor swirling around. If he lied about himself, couldn't he have lied about the hacking? And if he really has been catfishing people (again, just a rumor I heard, please correct me if I'm wrong), isn't it also possible he had something to do with those other hacks? I'm really not trying to start something, I'm just trying to grasp the depths this person deceived people. If he was lying to protect his real identity for personal reasons, I totally understand. But why leave altogether and not offer some kind of explanation? Unless there's some vital info I'm missing, which is entirely possible. Again, I'm not trying to add fuel to the fire, and I don't think SQers have been making things up about the hacking, I'm just shouting into the void because this is all still so mysterious. Also, I want to squelch any misinformation going around--so far a lot of my fellow CSers are verifying Ethan's deciet as some kind of "proof" that the whole hacking incident was staged, which I don't think is fair. I don't know. It's all just so crazy.
