Not in urban tribes anymore? You need to read this
This is a quote of an opinion written by the fabulous and really dark band The L.I.P in relation to urban tribes. As an absolute fanboy of their words and songs I asked if I could share it. Enjoy.
During these long and slow last years, The L.I.P has seen and live, or sometimes belong, to the birth, the death, the rebirth, the second death and the uroboros of the new, and sometimes full of enthusiam subcutultures. We have seen how the emo fringes invaded Barcelona's streets, then was the turn of the hipster's beards and now is the flat visors of the swaggers. We have cohabitated with indies, hipsters, pastel goths, 90's fans, perroflautas, lolitas, seapunks, nu metalheads, bloggers, vegans, canis, scenes, nu goths, vloggers, gabbers, metalcores, reggatoneros, steampunks, club kids, pin ups, normcores, freaks, psychobillies, shironuris, visuals and a wide and infinite ocean of stupid labels.
To all of them, absolutely each one, we have loved and understand it. Their ideas, their way of living and their style have excited us and we become more open-minded and more intelligent. We are part of them and they are part of us.
Sadly, nowadays seems that, suddenly, the times goes by and everybody in our surroundings grew up, matured and settled down, with this they started to talk shit about the new generations like if they are souless shit which destiny is to be exterminated. They don't remember when, not so far, they were the new disregarded generation. And they felt proud despite this. Exactly how swaggers and hipsters have to feel like. Vaporwavers or nymphets who don't know they are.
You know what? We don't know if you are aware but you are getting oooooold and you talk like a fucking grannies. Open your eyes and look back, fuckers! Four days ago you were like them. Let them be whatever they want to be and don't evolve to your parents so quickly! Or your grandparents...
Please, the tribe needs to grown. Everybody has to dance in the city this night. And you, sleepwalker of tiny brain...stay at home because tomorrow you need to get up early, fogeys!
