buffy spinoff set between buffy’s death in season 5 and her resurrection in season 6 where kendra gets revived due to buffy’s death—which made her a slayer the first time it happened, so why not get called back when buffy dies again, seemingly much more permanently?—and she and faith have to team up to protect a city and it’s so hard at the start because they’re so different but not so different because they were both created from death and the girl who should’ve been the perfect balancing point between them is in a grave and they eventually find their rhythm because if there’s anything they agree on its that a slayer is efficient and it’s a bit like love and then the unthinkable happens and buffy’s back. and now what?

my latest Fuffy HC:

when Faith returns to Sunnydale in S7 she trades leather for denim. now you may THINK that's bc the show uses "wearing leather" as shorthand for "evil" or "probably evil" and in S7 Faith is in redemption mode.

but actually it's bc Buffy told prison-era Faith (via phone or letter) that she likes denim, and perhaps makes a snide remark about leather. (i will also accept the further-from-canon idea that Buffy told her in person at a prison visit.) i am not sure if Buffy was praising a man (Riley? Spike??) for wearing denim, or if Buffy even really meant it. perhaps Buffy just meant that she herself was "really getting into denim" - like for the season, like fashion wise.

but Faith takes it to heart and makes sure to ONLY wear denim, no leather after she breaks out of prison.

Faith's debut was in S3 of the show BTVS. Which means we are celebrating Faith being in Buffy the Vampire Slayer today - on Faith Lehane Day! (that's not funny, that's glorious)

Many many people shorten BTVS to Buffy, so you can also say that today we celebrate Faith being in Buffy (the show, but hey if you wanna celebrate the other... that's 5x5). (*snort*)

for Eliza Dushku Daily i am putting together a series (an exhibit in museum speak i guess) of gifs with a theme. the current theme is fighting, with a future series being all the Fuffy. so this is my internal monologue:

OK cool, there's a vamp staking. Next ep, oh wait, no this fight scene with Buffy is WAY too Fuffy, chemistry off the charts, should save it for the Fuffy series. here's anoth- oh nope her and Buffy share an awkward high five. oh here's a good fight gif - ah dang it's got them staring at each other too intensely. LOL

in summary, the Fuffy is overloading the fight scene series!

I respect everyone's headcanons and all that but....

I cannot get down with this idea that Faith is a therapist now. I can see her more chill, mellowed out, having worked through some of her trauma. But a therapist?? Like an honest to god "I pay you and you help me through my problems" licensed therapist? No.

The closest I can get is that Faith is a mentor to troubled Slayers, and talks to them about various issues, some Slaying-related and some not. But even that feels like a "cool big sister or aunt" role than a trained licensed medical professional.

Look, I want Eliza to do a cameo in the new Hulu sequel (assuming it gets picked up) as much as the next Fuffy fan and Eliza superfan person. I even wrote out my Fuffy hail-mary longshot dream for how it could realistically happen. But it doesn't seem likely that she will appear on screen for the Buffyverse.

This is relevant piece from the brand new Hollywood Reporter interview:

Q: Do you consider it a closed chapter? [Your previous life acting.] If I google your name, it says “retired actress Eliza Dushku.” A: Oh yeah. Yeah. I will not be in front of a camera again unless it’s in some capacity that is in service of my new work and passion. [Her new work and passion is mental health counseling and psychedelic therapy.] That’s what makes this movie so special... I will happily ignore whatever convoluted twist of reasoning is required to get her on-screen, obviously. Happily. But I think people reading this interview and thinking it means Faith will return as a therapist ... have forgotten what Faith was like? I mean, for sure, people can change a lot in 20+ years. Absolutely. But I just don't see it.

(Ofc if Eliza does show up in the Hulu Sequel I will absolutely GO NUTS.)

Faith Lehane HC - Comphet edition:

Faith mentions her now dead mother in canon S3. What she doesn't mention is that she actually has 2 moms. They're still bad moms, not good to each other, drinking and passing out are still a part of their lives. (Diversity win: the parents that are passing down their generational trauma to you are lesbians!) There are some good times but more of it is bad than good.

Faith hates her mom's girlfriend with a passion, and would never call her "mom". Also BTW Faith's dad is in prison, or dead, or absent. Choose your own adventure. He wasn't around much, even when Faith was little.

Faith is partially comphet because she is trying to reject her mom / moms. (God the mom issues this girl has.) In S3 she is emotionally stuck as a teenager / preteen, and she is trying her hardest to not follow in any of her mom's footsteps. Including being a dyke (affectionate)

Not sure I will ever write this so jotting it down in my Tumblr diary. What if in S5 S6 (actually! i was wrong before) when Riley returns for his one episode with his wife (!!) Buffy realizes Riley is not who she wants but she still wants to hurt him. So Buffy aggressively seduces Sam (Ivana Milicevic) and at least makes out with her. It's consensual. (Sam is into it.) Buffy has had these impulses before and it's more mirroring of Faith.

I just think that would be neat. If Faith finds out she def destroys some shit in prison.
