Sengoku, looking at Yumiko: Hey Fuji, do you have the number of that babe?
Fuji: That’s my sister!
Sengoku: So you do have it.

Syusuke: Bro, ASK ME if I give a fuck!
Yuta: Do you give a fuck?
*Syusuke takes off his sunglasses as sentimental piano music plays*
Syusuke: Of course I do, man. We’re brothers.
New Prince of Tennis - Chapter 49 Room 201 doesn't cease to please. Just based on this chapter, I might wonder if Fuji is actually a bit on the outer circle here though, but I think other material doesn't give that impression. Still, I think there's fic or meta to be written about how Fuji sees Yukimura after the way he guided Kirihara, and what Kirihara has done to Fuji's friends. So from that context, it's interesting to see Fuji as the independent part here. Yuuta, as always, is the dearest sweetie. He will surely be properly avenged. Atobe, meanwhile, is being Atobe with his complaints. Amused to see Kabaji ignoring orders in order to hang out with Niou instead, even though I don't really even like the idea of them together. Mostly because of bad tennis vibes from too much copy/illusion stuff in the same room. Well, I'm happy to see the jerseys were dug up from the ground. But... is Higa really the fifth biggest school?
On Fuji Yuuta
I’ve just recently watched the 3rd Season SeiRu musical, and have a lot of feelings for Yuuta.
Most of all, I’m just super proud of him. After being treated badly at Seigaku and finding new people who respected him and gave him validation, he could have started thinking he needs to always be loyal to them - especially to Mizuki, who brought him in, showed a lot of expectation for him and taught him new skills that made him stronger.
So when he gets into a situation where he’s asked by Mizuki to do something he doesn’t want to do, in this adaptation he clearly struggles with that. It’s not easy to go against someone who’s your superior, who you have trusted and who has done things you are grateful for. But Yuuta is able to do it. He will not start hurting other people - he will play fair and won’t apologize for that.
When he loses, he takes it calmly, doesn’t flinch from Mizuki ignoring him, and promises to keep practising to become better.
Clearly both Shuusuke and Yuuta share the values of not harming anyone, but Yuuta has been tested on it more and managed to resist outside pressure and stay true to what he thought was right.
I’m so proud of his integrity. Thank you for being a good person like this, Yuuta.
New Prince of Tennis - Chapter 9 (continued) While I wish the Fuji brothers' game had been explored in more detail, I am happy that they were able to play it without drama. They have clearly grown past their difficulties and can now be honest and straightforward with each other here, even though the difference in levels is still there. I'm so proud of Yuuta and happy for Shuusuke! The part after the match where Yuuta lists Tezuka, Shiraishi, Atobe and says Shuusuke is probably now stronger than all of them, to all of which Shuusuke says yes, is really funny. I'm all for some brotherly confidence and boasting.

A new translation of a Fujicest drabble I wrote all the way in 2008.
I wonder if people in the fandom are against this ship these days? I rarely see it anywhere anymore, but I’m not sure if that’s just due to the fandom being smaller in general or something else.
I just have this idea that when Shusuke goes to college and leaves Yuuta in high-school, or if Shusuke ever goes study abroad, then Yuuta will get all sad and buy a cactus and name it Aniki #2 or Shusuke #2.
Imagine Yuuta and his girlfriend cuddling and speaking in hushed tones. Everyone who sees thinks they're being mushy and whispering sweet nothings but really they're discussing whether or not Mizuki is gay. "I'm telling you the guy wears way too many flowers. Your mean to tell me your gaydar doesn't go off when he comes around?" "What even is a gaydar?" "Oooh, Yuuta, you poor, pure cinnamon roll you."
Haha, I bet Yuuta would later ask Fuji what a ‘gaydar’ is and Fuji would tease him endlessly. ^.^ Just imagine Yuuta ranting to his s.o “And he always drinks his damn tea, but not like a normal person even during practice he uses those tea cups with flowers on them… with flowers on them! He constantly asks me questions about my aniki, too! I mean, does he have a crush on him?! He even wanted to have his number!” <3
