My thoughts on Fuji-P
So like listen. I finished The First season of Precure and am working my way through Max Heart. So like I don't understand all the disregard for this character? He's fine. He's just a cool dude who loves soccer and is nice. He's also a little whimsical and appreciates the people and scenery around him. Like Functionally he's Honoka's big brother and Nagisa has a crush on him. He's used both as someone for Honoka to talk to and to display that Nagisa is shy and nervous around boys. This does not negate the fact that Nagisa and Honoka are soulmates. Like Nagisa sometimes just stares at Honoka and appreciates how beautiful she is. And Honoka.... she's either paying attention in class or looking at Nagisa.
And I saw that Huggto Futari wa movie scene.
So Fuji-P doesn't really get in the way. If anything he's used to highlight important factors of Honoka and Nagisa that makes them more human. Like Nagisa prioritizes her friends over herself or how Honoka's been willful since childhood.
