Fluffuary Day Two: Logicality
***
Logan is in such a hurry getting out of the cab that he barely remembers to pay the poor woman who drove him. He slips in a puddle, skidding and doing a weird hop to keep from ruining his suit.
The square is busy, and he gets some odd looks in his tailored suit that clashes with his messy hair and shaking hands.
“Logan!” Patton calls, waving frantically.
Letting out a relieved breath, Logan speed walks across the square, the hanging lights and fountains catching his eye. “Patton! I was worried. You’re text said to find you ASAP?”
“I didn’t want you to worry!” Patton rocks on his heels, hands clasped behind him. “That’s why I added the smiley face!”
Logan chuckles. “I’m afraid you made a typo. You sent me a frown.”
Patton gasps around a giggle, reaching one hand over to grip the front of Logan’s suit. “Oh I’m sorry! Are you okay?”
“Fine,” Logan replies, leaning towards Patton.
His boyfriend pulls back before he can get to close, stepping back so his calves press into the back of a fountain. “Do you know this place?”
Logan shakes his head. “I’ve never been here before.”
Patton grins, “I know!”
“So why-“
“When we went on our first date, I asked how you would want to be proposed to.”
Logan’s eyes widen.
Patton shrugs. “You told me that you wanted to be brought somewhere new, instead of revisit somewhere that already meant a lot to you.”
“I wanted to make a new special place,” Logan whispers.
“A new memory.” Patton’s smile goes soft and he licks his lips.
“Patton, what’s-“
Before Logan can finish Patton kneels down, pulling his other hand out from behind his back and holding up a ring case. “Make a new memory with me, Starlight?”
All his breathe leaving him at the sight of the silver band, inlaid with blue diamonds of different shades, Logan takes a slow step forward, kneeling in front of Patton with wet eyes. He holds his breath, and he can tell Patton is doing the same.
“Anytime and always, Dreamer.”
Patton rubs his eyes before slipping the ring on Logan’s finger with a laugh, kissing his knuckles and then his face.
The ring fits perfectly. The lights are beautiful. The fountain sparkles. His boyfriend- no, fiancé, is incredible.
Logan will never forget this place.
