Downtown Boys - Full Communism This is one of my absolute favorite records of the last 5 years or so. Angry and righteous, it’s an in-your-face political record that’s both serious and fun. A true punk rock record. I had heard of them through the usual ways, music blogs and the like, but it wasn’t until I came across their version of “Dancing in the Dark”, a non-album track, that I was compelled to listen to this record… on repeat. It became part of my “inject some excitement into boring admin tasks at work” Spotify playlist. And this band also made me want to learn the chords to “Dancing in the Dark”, in case one day they invite me up on stage to play the song with them. A 36-year-old father-of-two can still (day)dream. =====================
