LUNAR ECLIPSE OVERVIEW 🌚 // A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into Earths shadow blocking the sunlight falling on the Moon, making it appear slightly orange/red. Lunar Eclipses are ten times stronger than a normal Full Moon. Lunar Eclipses always happen on Full Moons and Solar Eclipses always on New Moons. As the Eclipse occurs when the Moon is full, it supercharges this lunations focus of releasing. This is a great time to practice clearing, forgiveness, shadow work and other Full Moon rituals such as welcoming in feelings of gratitude. Full Moons bring us the opportunity for clearings and endings, but a Lunar Eclipse forces these endings into our lives through dramatic realisations, abrupt changes and unexpected events. Eclipses invite us to release anything that is limiting us and preventing us from taking a leap of faith or creating positive change in our life. Eclipses align us with what we need (not necessarily what we want). They present us with a challenge and a bridge we must cross. Eclipses remind us that with every ending there is a new beginning. Stay open and flexible to changes that occur at this time. Surrender and allow the Universe to take control. Do not resist changes or try to force and push for things to be a certain way. Be curious and open to new perspectives and seeing the world differently. This is an important time to retreat inwards to rest and reflect. Lunar Eclipse bring us immense energy and give us the opportunity to cut energetic cords to the past. Just like any Full Moon, they bring us the vibration of release. Lunar Eclipses, though, are supercharged. There may be moments of intense emotions during and around this Eclipse. Trust what falls away from your life around the time of an Eclipse, even if it feels challenging. We are asked to see any change at this time as an important lesson even if this change is uncomfortable. This is portal for immense growth and transformation. We are guided to trust the process and to take time out to ground ourselves and breathe.
Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse in Pisces ♓️
A total lunar eclipse will take place tomorrow at 7:08pm UK time. There’s a lot written about eclipses and eclipse season but honestly, I’m just focusing on moving through this one calmly and peacefully. I thought today was a good time to show you the Blood Moon card from my Lunar Magic Oracle, you can see the illustration here.
This September full moon is also known as the Corn Moon, 🌽 a name that comes from the time of year when corn was traditionally harvested. The lovely thing about the Corn moon is that it’s all about abundance!
You may have thought this would be the Harvest Moon 🌾 but that moon doesn’t always fall in September. It’s the full moon that falls closest to the autumn equinox, which usually lands around September 21/22. Some years that’s a late September moon, and other times it’s early October.
