Just chilling on Saturday morning
Capt. Morgan modeling at his first craft show @ Coonamesset Farms Artisan Fair.
Another fun day. Checking out the cranberry bog on West Yarmouth Rd. Both dogs went for a swim. Giving me my exercise too.
Great February day for a walk in the woods. Maya and Gryffindor got to check out different smells.
Trying to get lots of exercise for myself and the dogs. Went for a hike around Flax pond in Dennis. The kids went paddling in the pond.
Maya getting her daily dose of essential oils. This is Maya, she is part boxer and part Rhodesian ridgeback. Maya was a rescue,we got her at age 4 1/2, she was not very socialized and we have been working on that. She has been to basic training even though she new all the basics, but she does not seem to like other dogs or people. It takes awhile for her to get used to someone. She especially does not like the UPS truck, all it has to do is drive by the house and she goes nuts. A year or so ago I met someone that suggested essential oils, I did buy a bottle but used it sporadically with not much effect. Then a few weeks ago I went to an essential oils class at my favorite pet store Pupcakes, the person running the class was the same one I had met previously, we talked about Maya and her fear aggression (as we have come to find out is the problem). Krista suggested I try agin with the oils but with a mixture of oils in a diffuser. We have been doing this for a little over a month and do see a difference, I also have the mixture in a roll on that I put on her collar or her paws.. I am now hooked on these oils both for Maya and the Breathe blend I got for myself. Thank you Krista Randall and doTerra.
Gryffindor taking it easy on the couch.
This past summer I ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure, it has been a struggle getting back to walking. It was suggested that I try to build up and start doing 5k’s. So here I am at my very first 5k. The Andrea Holden 5k in Dennis MA. I met some very nice people who let me join them, the dog Lucky had gotten loose as we were heading to the Dennis Inn, being a dog lover I managed to catch and hold him for the owner and earned the nickname of “dog angel”. I ended up walking the race in just over 57 minutes and had a great time doing it. After the race we were treated to hamburgers, hot dogs, and chilli, I met some people that I have not seen in years. Did not take any of the dogs this time but will work with them to take one next time. Looking forward to the next one.
