Update on previous post re: "Fear" - 

Tobias was there. He strolled in about 15mins before the performance was due to start wearing a trilby and uber thick glasses (he's like a really tall mole) and a khaki jacket. He looked pretty cool and kick ass, and had he not been with a couple of friends I would have totally fangirled the fuck out and asked him for an autograph. 

I sat opposite him in the theatre (it was in the round) and spent most of my time watching him (and pretending he was watching me). He fidgets a lot, and near the beginning he was chewing on his jumper for some reason. He then had his feet up on the seat back in front of him, because being long-legged in the theatre is hard, you guys. 

He was very dashing, and I would've been very intrigued to know what he thought of the performance, particularly as he was meant to be in it. A lot of the reviews said it was "amateurish but with promise", and I would agree - as with the majority of stuff I've seen Tobias in, it had buckets of potential that just wasn't being tapped into. 

As we were leaving I ended up being next to him, and I heard him talking to his friends in a deliciously deep, plummy accent. I also got a nice look at him from close up when he let me through the door before him. He's not as tall as I thought he was - probably 5'11'' - about the height of the younger of my brothers, which is a pretty decent height. 

Horrible as it sounds, he gave me an impression of pretension that I couldn't shake off. However, I have a feeling I give off the same air, so I get the feeling we're probably pretty similar. We both fidget far too much in the theatre, and I do have a tendency to eat my clothes, too....

The more I think about it, the more I think I should have sat next to him (I did look around the theatre to find him when I walked in, but he'd slipped out to get a drink and I didn't recognise his friends until it was too late for me to move across the room). There could've been some mutual fidgeting, knees knocking against each other, murmured apologies, sympathetic smiles at the discomfort of the seats, a short exchange afterwards about awkward seating in theatres, leading to a longer conversation about the performance and what he thought and all those things I would've liked to ask... 

Ah, well, maybe next time. It was nice to see him knocking about London, though, and I hope I get to see him on stage next time I go to the theatre!
