I need a lifestyle change.

I grew up in Lake Butler, Fla. It is a small town 20 miles north of Gainesville,Fla. I remember every weekend I would find a reason to leave my small hometown to participate in recreational activities in Gainesville.

So, not surprisingly when I turned 18 years old I moved here the first chance I could get. I haven’t left since.

As we all know Gainesville is a college town, rich with youth and diversity. One where partying is prominent and runs rampant throughout the town. I can tell you first hand that this is a factual statement, as I have partaken in this lifestyle for many years.

Then Ava came, and as much as I enjoyed that lifestyle I needed to grow up and mature. I couldn’t party multiple times per week like I used to. I had a new priority now, she was a 3-year-old little girl who was in love with “WoW Wow Wubbzy”. Gone were the days of partying and in with the new were the days of walks to the park and having tea parties. 

I needed somewhere I could go to find things to do with Ava. Parks were fun and all, but we needed other things to do. I needed a resource to help me with this. 

A mom from Ava’s ballet class told me to go to http://fun4gatorkids.com/. She said she used it for years and it would provide me information on local events and things happening around the community.

Now every week I designate 2-3 days where we go to the park, the museum, go hiking or the movies. Its a new lifestyle I have come to love, one that makes us both happy.
