I was going to say something like «its annoying trying to be a good person» but you know what. Fuck that.

I have to put in effort to being «nice» because that shit doesn't come naturally to me. I have to choose to be empathetic, I have to choose to be interested in what someone is talking to me about.

And I'm fucking proud of myself. Because I do it, even if it's annoying. Even if I just want to not care, or to tell someone to shut up.

If anyone else does this, we see you. Be proud of yourself for choosing to be «better,» in whatever sense. Even though it can suck. Even though you might mess up (we do too). But you're trying. So be proud of that.
