Hi! I was about to download your sims 4 funeral mod (I've been waiting Sooooo long for this mod thank you so much ajjfjhwjfnj), anywho, so I noticed the option for open casket and I was wondering if you knew of any decorative items of a dead sim? (Grim, I know). Or like a way to place a dead sim's body inside of the open coffin? I'm not a freak I promise *nervously laughs internally*... so yeah! Thank youuu <3

Hi there :) There actually a few options! The creator of the caskets (who was so nice enough to let me use them for the mod) @necrodogmtsands4s made some poses for Sims specifically for his coffins here.  I haven’t played the mod with the poses (it was a bit too grim for me to ever try it with a Sim inside the open casket- but hey, it’s more realistic that way).  You’d have to use an alive Sim to do the poses, though.  

There’s also the deco sims which are laying down that he made here.  You can place them in the coffins using “bb.moveobjects on” cheat.  

You might be able to find more deco Sims here on @sssvitlans Tumblr.  I didn’t browse the whole tag, but I know @leo-sims has done a lot of conversions of deco sims, so maybe there’s a few others that could work :)

Any chance you could add the ability to throw a funeral on General Lots as well? No worries if not, just throwing it out there.

Hi there!  I originally did consider the option to throw funerals on Generic Lots (I think that’s what you mean by General lot?), but decided against it in the end.  Events aren’t normally configured to happen on Generic lots, and while it can be done, it takes a few tuning changes and overrides, something I don’t really want to do for this event.  I did it for the Prom Mod and it’s sort of a pain, hehe.  There’s also the bug that happens when placing venues on Generic lots- and it was/is such a headache for the Prom Mod, so I don’t want to have that issue again, lol. That being said, I highly recommend just throwing funerals at a lounge.  Obviously, you can take a church lot (the lot I made is a lounge too) and turn it into a lounge.  One way to skip the lounge requirements is by placing a basement with no access to it and placing all the required objects (things like barstools, tv, stereo, etc.) in it- that way they’re not cluttering up your church lot :)  Most other Sims don’t seem to visit lounges so they won’t ruin your funeral, and the ones who do are usually seniors (that’s the way the lounges work in the game, haha), so that’s somewhat fitting for a funeral, anyway, LOL.  Or you can throw them on residential, park, museum, or restaurant lots :) Anyway, sorry for the long explanation, but I hope that helps :)

A few other things :)

First and foremost, I’d like to thank everyone who left such lovely comments here and on SimsVIP on my Community Spotlight feature!  I really feel the love from you all and I appreciate it so much :)  It inspired me to get back into modding (I haven’t really done anything modding-wise since the Graduation Event at the end of November), and I should be finishing up the funeral mod shortly :)

Anyway, hope you are all having a nice week...back to finishing the rewards for the funeral event for me now! ;)

Haha, I’m glad that you (and everyone else :)) is excited!  I don’t think it’s morbid at all, though...unfortunately, death is a part of life...even in the Sims 4, and we should have a nice way to say goodbye to our loved ones. 

I’ve been wanting to make a funeral since I learned to do event mods, but when I first started, I didn’t know how to make custom interactions so I knew I couldn’t make the mod I wanted to.  Now I know how so hopefully I’ll do it justice and we can finally have nice funerals/memorial services for our Simmies who pass on :)   I’m making good progress and it should be done soon(ish) :D

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Well, it’s already the new year in Australia, at least ;) I hope you all have/had a safe and wonderful New Years Eve!  

One of my goals for the new year is to find more balance in my personal life.  I’m the kind of person who really gets into one thing and puts all her spare time into that, neglecting almost everything else.  That’s great, sometimes, but I’ve realized that it means I miss out on a lot of other things too.  

You’ve probably already guessed that modding and creating CC has been that thing I’ve obsessively poured my time into for the past 8 or 9 months.  A big part of that was just because of my personality, but another side of it was because I felt like I had to keep up with everyone’s requests (which is why, btw, I no longer take requests). 

So, while I definitely plan to continue making new mods and keeping my old ones updated this year, I also am going to slow down on making mods.  I took December off and it was really relaxing and reminded me that there’s a ton of other hobbies I enjoy.  I spent more time doing other fun stuff and still had a bit of time for CC, so I need to find a better balance.  That probably means that I won’t be putting out 2 mods a month like I was for the last 6 months or so, but I already have a pretty solid catalogue of work behind me for all of you to enjoy :) Anyway, I am going to start working on my next project: the Funeral Mod :)  There’s no ETA yet- again, I don’t want to force myself to spend all my free time working on it, and will only do it when I’m in a modding mood.  If you guys have any ideas for it, let me know in the comments section :) Thank you all again for your love and support!  2017 is going to be a great year!

Hey i have a suggestion/thought about your Funeral mod. Maybe you could create a decorative grave object and attach a Sad Moodlet to it so that everyone will be sad at the funeral instead of oddly happy emotions?? Just a thought :)

Haha, yes, that’s already something I’ve considered.  More than likely, I will make a new sad moodlet that is on for the duration of the funeral.  I haven’t thought about all the little details yet, but maybe the severity of the sadness depends on how well you knew the deceased Sim.  But yeah, I plan to totally rework the way Sims react to death, at least during my funeral event :)
