Colonial hangover truly fucks with your head to epic proportions because WHY was someone telling me that its so nice that funerals in the west are "more peaceful and respectful" because they hate all the "noise and drama" of indian funerals. What. What do you mean. Why is our traditional way of mourning the wrong way to mourn??? Is it some massive shame for people to know you're experiencing grief on a physcial level???? Standing there all stoic is ok but god forbid someone wail and cry at a funeral

Actually yknow what even if it was the wrong way to mourn. This person and i are from the same community. A community that. By the way. Has not practiced this form of mourning for at least 2 generations now. Most our funerals now ARE stoic and stiff and "respectfully" silent unless there was some huge tragedy. So we dont even DO the thing they're complaining about. Do you even know anything about the country you live in???? Does your idea of India come from ZeeTV??? What the fuck
