In Quantum, the player's ships are represented via six-sided dice (six ship types, six sides). While this in itself is a useful way to use a well known component in a different fashion, when changing that ship's type, the die itself is rolled; this simultaneously reduces the number of necessary components, as well as directly linking mechanics in the game to create a more cohesive whole.
