Sure, he has some cool glasses and board moves, but you wanna know why FK gives off such mind-blowingly attractive but can't quite put your finger on why vibes?

Well for starters, Funky is likely the oldest of the kid Kong generation (Candy/DK/Diddy/Dixie/etc.) So he naturally plays the big brother / older cousin to everyone. Granted he isn't the 'hold your hand every step of the way' kind. He's protective to the degree he needs to be, and otherwise allows curiosity and explorative tendencies to flourish among his younger family members. He's playful in that he will enjoy teasing his cousins when they need to get knocked down a peg, but otherwise - a bitch wouldn't hesitate to swing on a noted threat to their well-being.

When he's wearing his sunglasses (which is always) his moods seem really sporadic and unpredictable, but only because he's gifted the illusion of being chill 24/7. That means going from 0 to 100 when he's got a little shit like DK in his sights for an unannounced wrestling match.

As the eldest, Funky tends to display a great level of maturity and responsibility when it comes to his businesses and overall work ethic. This is masked somewhat by his beach bum attire and his hobby of surfing, but he knows how to balance between business and pleasure well enough. Not being a direct royal after all, he's well aware he has to work harder overall to succeed, and so he's always looking for new ways to add to or promote his business endeavors.

He's a Kong of few words far and in between, but when he does speak - it's often in the form of truth bombs and things his company might need to hear if he notices they're being painfully oblivious.

Overall, he's a strong pillar in the community, a role-model for the younger Kongs, a fun guy despite actually sticking to a reasonable amount of regulations, a hard-worker who indulges in his passions just enough...yeah, that's rad. That's funky.

"Hahaha I will be more careful! Thanks!" Junior replied happily. "Well, kinda! I just love to play around with my toys!" the tyke said with a wide smile.

"Are you on free days too? Taking a break? At all this, what do you do?" Junior asked with curiosity. "What's your job?" he asked, being curious.

"Good. Safety is cool." He adds, no stranger to tricking his younger cousins into following the rules as a younger Kong.

The question gives him pause and he takes a moment to squat down more eye level with the little Koopa, busying himself with scribbling something in the sand. "...well. Kinda." Somewhat impressed by the other's inquisitive nature (given how bull-headed that Bowser guy was) Funky gives him a shrug. "I got a shop. Can't really decide on what to sell so...I sell a little bit of it all."

Patting his board, he shows the Koopa kid. "Got some of these too."

"What? No, Funky! It's not like that!" she protested, feeling her cheeks heat up even more. "I just had a little accident while exploring the island last night."

Raising a brow in her direction, he didn't make a move to uncross his arms as a side grin grew ever steady towards his smug expression. "Oh, well I'm glad you're all right then..." Trailing off, he turns around as if that's it for his commentary...but not without offering a hand up to wave offhandedly at the air. "...accidentally tripping onto someone's lap is a pretty fun experience."

"Yeah! I can swim! Don't worry!" Junior said happily. "Don't worry! Let's keep going!" the tyke said as he followed Funky.

"And well, I just love this place, the fruits, the clean water! It's pretty comfortable especially during hot days!" Junior explained as he swam with his board.

Nodding, he sets about swimming them out deeper. With the kid on his board, he happily settles for pressing the underside of it against his tummy and hangs on as he backstrokes through the wake.

Once the fury of the near to shore waves die off and they're out deep, he pauses and bobs up to view the shore.

" It's pretty rad." He agrees with the Koopa, feet kicking under him to keep him afloat. "OK...we're on the edge of the good stuff out here." He informs him, nodding towards the line of white foam that began a few feet ahead....that kept swelling and surging forward with a big bump in the water that eventually became a roaring wave closer in.

"Trick is to get behind one of them...then ride it to shore. Here...lemme show ya." He adds, not willing to let the kid loose to the wolves without a proper send off. Swimming them both over to the starting area, he waits til a bump in the water starts up, then ...swims ahead of it, dragging the board with him. After a moment, he flips up out of the water and onto the front of the vessel, scooting the kid back a little towards the tail end as the wave catches them and starts forward. "Allright. Now..." He grins, glancing back at the other. "When it starts gettin' fast, just stand up!" With the momentum building, he waits until the surge is causing the board to wobble side to side in an attempt to throw both occupants off before he he scrambles up, gripping the sides with his feet and digs in to control it forward.

"Heeeere it goes. Hang on!"

"Well, I love water! I love to swim! So yeah! I like to surf too!" Junior said with a big smile. "Oh, really? Awesome! Wait a second!" the tyke said as he took out his bag of coins and grabbed the 10 coins to offer to the ape. "Here you go! I want a board and the lesson too!" he said happily.

Blinking behind his shades, Funky leaned over to check out the Koopa kid's coin haul. "Puttin' in the work, I see..." Shaking his head, Funky nudged the kid's hand away, then flashed him a thumbs up.

"Payment comes after the lesson, kid. Just in case you change your mind!" The tide surged in, eating at ankles, but Funky was rarin' to go.

"You wanna head out now? I got time." Smacking his board, he nods towards the roar of the ocean beside them.

He waits until DK looks extra preoccupied with scratching at something on the ground. After a pause, Funky drops down from the branch he'd been clinging with his feet and lands on the other with a vicious 'whumpfh!'.

A laugh signifies he's not a predator, though he'd somehow found the other's tie between his jaws. "Oh, hey - Lil D." He greets him, tugging on the red slip of cloth playfully.

Junior notices someone passing by and knocking the thing down. He smiled and ran to grab his kite. "Yay!! Hey!! Thank you!!" he exclaimed to then realize it was Funky Kong. "Thanks, Funky!!" Junior exclaimed and waved at him.

Chilling on the sand for a bit to make sure he didn't break anything vital, Funky blinks under his glasses once he hears a cheer. Tilting his had to the side, he spies the mini looking bowser celebrating over a kite and...despite himself smiles. "No prob." He sits up, clambering back onto his feet and hoisting his fallen board up against his chest.

"...careful flying too high there, kiddo." He instructs, his usual grin a softened butter of a smile in comparison. "You and your dad still on vacation, huh?"
