Meteorology 101
i’m taking an online meteorology course {bcuz college} and this is an actual quote from my book:
“Air pressure no doubt has been lower than 870 mb in some tornadoes, but such low readings have never been confirmed directly because the tornadic winds are so strong that they destroy barometers” (Ch 5).
i can just imagine a tv broadcast “marge, what’s the pressure reading?” “howard, for the third time, the tornado broke the barometer” “oh yeah should probably get that fixed” “DAVID--THE TORNADO RIPPED THE BAROMETER OFF THE WALL! JUST LET ME JUMP INTO THE TORNADO TO FIND THE STUPID THING FOR YOUR SCIENCE PROJECT.” “thanks mom--i need that A”
