Another patch done...I feel like I'm getting better at this, but it's still a lot of trial and error. Made this towards the blanket project I have for the girls, for reading their Norse Mythology book cover to cover (and then some!) last year. Well, I wasn't going to share this, but I worked so hard on it I figured I should. Lol. A couple of months ago I came up with a project I want to do for the girls as they go through school...it was inspired by the idea of girl scouts fun patches. Each year I'm going to make a fabric square and cover it in patches pertaining to things they did that year, for example, foraging for leeks, like this patch I hand embroidered. We get patches as a souvenir every time we take a trip with @beckyanne102 , Grandpa got them some Frost Valley patches for summer camp, and of course I will be making a lot. At the end of their school years, I'm going to sew all the patch-filled squares together to make a quilt. The girls love the idea, and I feel like a blanket will be more useful and sentimental than a photo book or some other memento. So there's my little story. Haha. This foraging patch just needs some backing added on, and to be trimmed and it's done.
