He couldn't even remember when it had started. Maybe after he couldn't endure to have people around him anymore, too many things had happened in his life. The forest had become his home, away from the city - the forests here were deep, dark and wild, no one would search for him here. Only a few people knew what he was and those wouldn't come for him. Since he wasn't a regular werewolf but a hybrid, he could change into his wolf form whenever he wanted. And he didn't need to change back at all. Exactly that happened - strolling through the forest, hunting what he needed to survive - a lone wolf, an alpha, but without a pack.
Meeting a human hadn't been part of his plan, but one of those days he had caught that scent in the air, human, clearly. Daniel had started to watch him from afar, not even knowing if he should approach or not. Then he'd gotten closer. Step by step. Until the human noticed him and wasn't afraid of the huge, black wolf that was staring at him.
It was exactly three months later, and things had changed. He didn't get to him every day, but often enough to keep him company. To get to know him. The human talked with him, sometimes - as if he wasn't just a wolf. That was what humans did, they talked to their pets, he knew that. Now he hadn't been at the small place in the middle of the forest for a few days. Unlikely for him. But he needed a bit time to think - even as a wolf, he was able to process thoughts, there wasn't that much of a difference, he just trusted his instincts more, followed them like any wolf would. It was late at night as he reached the wooden door. He sat down in front of the door, scratching with his paw against it like he usually did when he was there and wanted inside. Yes, he was allowed inside, and sometimes he wondered if the human was ever afraid of him. He wasn't a little dog, he was in fact a wild animal.
