Furby Diary 7: Skin and Bones

Ok since last time, I printed ears for a 1998 and a 2012 Furby and I haven't decided which to use or just use them both. I also printed and failed printing skeleton hands so the boy may have several arms. I got my speaker, I got some excellent fur, the faceplate has holes for sewing, soon I'll be cutting and stitching.

As a side note, I also just started buying Furbies. So I own 4 thus far. The video shows one of them and I have the other two on my blog. I'll post my fourth Furby soon, he's a special one.

Anyways, that's all. We'll see if I decide to work on the fur tonight or later.

Furby Diary Part 6 - Bones are Done

So the inner skeleton/exoskeleton/shell is done for the Furby and I received my small Bluetooth speaker and the hose things for Furby spines.

I'll probably, for now, just have the speaker loose inside the Furby body instead of gluing it somewhere since turning it off and on will probably be a pain if I don't.

I think I'll use three spines for the arms and then maybe five or maybe all seven of the rest for the body. I'll have to decide how I want to attach em all; just gluing the nozzle part into the screw part might work fine but we'll see if there's a better way.

I am gonna print some ears at least for some structure and I'll start looking for good Furby fur.

So the boy is coming together I'd say.

Furby Diary Part 1 - The beginnings

It is currently 1 AM, in the morning, and I decided, with my totally normal, not goblin brain that I'm gonna start a new project. These are the beginning parts of a horrible eldritch Furby. I took the same green filament I had previously used for a cool Cthulhu dice tower and I have started printing the first few pieces of a Furby face plate.

I have everything sliced as far as stuff I have to 3D print, and soon I will have a rough start to an amazing Furby project. It's gonna be horrible, I've never made one before and I have limited knowledge and ADHD so we'll see if I can keep it up. But hopefully I can string all of this together into a nice video or something.

Furby Diary Part 4 - Coming Together?

Tongue and forehead feather thing are done. The red turned out nice, the filament tends to look kind of purple so I'm glad it looks as red as it does. I lost the feather thing like immediately so whatever.

I'm printing the irises retinas things after this. I'm sure they'll be fine (spoilers: they are not)

Furby Diary 3

Ok eyes and mouth are done. They glow in the dark, so that'll be terrifying. At some point I will drill into them and put lights into them. I'm thinking green. I've got my eyes on some diodes that I wanna put in there.

I made a trip to Lowe's today to see if they had any but they did not. I'd love to support more brick and mortar stores but Amazon just has everything ever so I guess whatever. Next is the tongue and the feather forehead thing. Then I've got the pupil things. Then the exoskeleton. It'll be dope.
