The Wild Hunt, the Wild Host or the Raging Host (Wütende Heer) refers to a folk myth about phenomena in the night sky, which were interpreted as a hunting party of supernatural beings, and which were observed especially during the Twelve Days of Christmas or the Rough Nights. The associated ideas and customs go back to Germanic paganism.
