Kingdom of the Totemic Council
Background: After hearing stories of beings that were united with the spirits of animals, these beings became some enraptured by these stories that they held these Beastlings on a Godly level, eventually forming a religion. Each of the 5 animals represent an element, The High Eagle - Air, The Swimming Serpent- Water, The Monkey King- Void/Unity The Burning Jaguar- Fire, The Bear of Stone- Earth, (Note, The Monkey King does not represent any beastkin in Seventh Kingdom and is product of a fascination of Sun Wukong.
Each of the Council of 5 modify their bodies in some way to represent their Totemic animal, be it through piercings, teeth mod, or tattoos. They are still a fledgling nation, and do not have the means to accurately portray their animals. But damn, do they try!
Government: Run by the Council of 5. The council of 5 are 5 specially chosen representatives of the tribes throughout this smaller kingdoms. Every 50 years, or when a Representative dies, all the newborns starting the fresh calendar year are burned, and after 5 days the burn is examined, and if it resembles the respective tribe's totem animal, they are then chosen.
Each Representative at the age of 20 are sent on a pilgrimage throughout the known world challenging theirselves and reaching enlightenment in their way.
The Tribes
Tribe of The High Eagle
Based in the mountains of Furokai, these dwarves and humans worship the 'High Eagle' . They believe the High Eagle to be a noble cross bow wielding hero that has saved many villages and does no wrong!
