Intended as a continuation of Midnight Sunshine, but should still make sense on its own.
It’s time to choose.

Well, here we are.
Oh, I could’ve edited this forever. I could’ve just kept tweaking it, adding sentences here, removing them there. If I had more time, I would’ve written a shorter letter, etc etc. I have some problems with it still, but not ones so specific and identifiable that I could fix them without sitting on it for three months.
It’s time. I want this story to be DONE and complete and to Exist, already.
That’s a wrap for SiC! Almost. With this chapter, the story is complete, but I do have a fluff-only epilogue planned and in the works-- Just a picnic at that meadow where Pomni got the flowers from. It’ll be done, uh, when it’s done. No idea when.
I need a break, maybe. At the very least, I yearn to write something shorter and self contained.
I do intend to continue this series, though! I have at least two more fics already in mind, one to bridge the gap through episodes 7, 8, & 9 to Post-Canon, and then another set after the ending of the show. But, that’s a ways off.
This fic absolutely would never have been half of what it is (quality and scale both) if it weren’t for the help, support, feedback, and encouragement I got along the way. So, I think some thanks are in order:
Thank you to @liathgray for some crucial suggestions and feedback on these last three chapters, as well as a lot of help with brainstorming ideas. The pivotal moments of chapters 7 and 9 in particular are so, SO much stronger than the original draft because of their insights, and I’m very grateful for that. They’re an excellent writer and I cannot recommend their work enough.
Thank you to @rileysfiles for beta-reading every chapter of this fic since chapter 3 and providing some seriously critical feedback and suggestions as the fic went on. There was, in particular, an alternate timeline where Chapter 3 was very different and very ass and the story could have gone in an entirely different and much worse direction. Riley spared us that timeline. They even helped me come up with the chapter titles. SiC would genuinely be half of what it is if not for their input. They are Also an excellent writer and seriously go read their fics. If you like neurotic overthinker Pomni, you will adore their work.
Thank you to @pup-b , the love of my life, and the poor bastard who’s had to listen to me talk about this fic every goddamn day for four months on top of being the first eyes on single chapter in its roughest draft. I am so beyond grateful for his support, feedback, ideas, and repeated attempts to get me to write “each other” instead of “eachother” (he failed in that, but I respect the hustle). I wouldn’t have gotten back into writing in the first place without his constant support.
And finally, Thank You to everyone who’s read this far and stuck this way, WAY longer than I ever expected it to be story out to the end.
