some day soon im going to tweak thlayli's design to be more realistically cow. his hide is supposed to be white with brindle spots (the tan spots) but i think it really looks more like a dog's brindle than a cow's. im gonna study some brindle longhorns. gouache, collage, colored pencil, some crayon too. thlayli is usually titless but today he's afab because ive been thinking a lot about getting him pregnant

part of my thing im doin w team seafoam this year is im featuring one ocean lifeform per drawing that is endangered/at risk. this character Mariken is drawn with a border of Gracilaria parvispora, also known as ogo, found in the waters of Hawaii, an edible algae that has been a very popular cultural food up until recent years where it has been negatively affected by overharvesting. It is also popular in the marine aquarium trade. it is rare to find now in the wild and in 1988 the collecting of fertile gracilaria parvispora was outlawed. Look it up on wikipedia!! Im not pullin this info outta my ass... Mariken herself is sittin in the kitchen ready for some kind of adventure with her spoon. I found a lady's face in some old book and did some collaging .... She also has her mouse-sized computer. I hope you like it :-3
