Hey this seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I’d kind of like it if people stopped joking about shooting up furry cons/gassing furry cons.

It would be completely unacceptable if somebody said this about any other type of convention, but the internet seems completely fine with it when it comes to furries. It’s an act of terrorism, not a joke. I see children under the age of 13 attend these conventions, many of which exist to raise thousands of dollars for charity ever year.

Hate on furries all you want, I could give less of a fuck, but I’d love to enjoy my interests without fear of being gassed or shot. Furry cons is one of the few places I feel accepted as a member of the LGBTQ, can see my friends from across the world, and get to support indepdant artists.

With more and more people each year being arrested at cons for bringing automatic weapons to the hotel that the conventions take place in, and how the gassing at MFF 2014 turned out, with the media laughing and most of the internet laughing at the event instead of being concerned about it, I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody dies soon.
