alsooo (bc i am ME and it is dramatic leo season) top 5 dramas/scandals/mysteries in the portuguese art world
I dont even know that many scandals in portuguese art tbh but ill try me best
1. José Malhoa’s personal account of how he presented Fado, which is a pretty funny story (and likely false, he probably just made it up to piss off journalists) that earned the attention of a popular art blog on here who called me “xenophobic” (oh, yes, it’s big boy tumblr throwing in expensive words) for saying that an investigator of the medical field analysed thousands of photographs from the 19th century and learned that prostitutes from Mouraria were slashed across the face with a knife to be marked, which was something I was taught by my professor, who worked with said investigator (Helena something) on that particular research.
WHICH IS WHY THE BITCH IN THE FADO PAINTING IS CALLED ADELAIDE DA FUCKING FACADA
WHO HAS A FULL FRONTAL PAINTING THAT EXISTS, IN BRASIL, SHOWING THAT SAME KNIFE WOUND like I forgot the name of the blog but @ me bitch I just wanna talk
Said blog is not portuguese and is still active btw
2. Almada Negreiros getting into a fist fight in Baixa with another historian i forgot the name over who actually discovered that the St. Vincent Panels have tiles at the bottom
3. That one story I keep forgetting about the exact details but which consists of a dude who committed suicide after his ‘totally real, 15th century documents’ were proved to be a fake. If I remember correctly, the guy forged them and then killed himself out of shame cause his career as a historian was ruined
4. this
5. I mean anything that’s ever been built in Sintra is an interesting scandal. Sure, allow a bife to build a ~*masonic*~ fucking playground that also happens to be a deathtrap full of weird pseudo-mysterious paths and then wait until he just fucks off or does (I forgot which) and never truly finishes. Or let the king build an immense palace atop the ugliest fucking mountain in the country (YES SINTRA DIDN’T HAVE A SINGLE BLADE OF GRASS UNTIL THE 19TH CENTURY IT WAS A BALD PATCH OF EARTH), plant a whole exotic garden in there, and by sheer coincidence, let the royal palace just kind of line up with your opera singer mistress’ chalet
I’m sure no one will notice
fuselii replied to your post: does nolan know that leo is the worst part of...
“ #me except the sign says ‘inception should have been a limited series on hbo”’ im mad im going to be thinking about this now thanks

what's the largest mammal you think you could knock out with a single punch?
the etruscan shrew
It was @fuselii ’s birthday yesterday so here’s her resident final girl, Milou, in that Until Dawn AU we regularly delight ourselves with.
fmk: floribella, pipo (morangos com açucar), ou o dono do inspector max
fuck pipo
marry dono do inspector max SÓ PELO CÃO
kill floribela
She breathes history and stardust.
Moodboard for @fuselii! I was that really awkward SS going around asking questions to you ^^; I took a lot of inspiration from your archive posts and interests, and I tried to personalise it in some way! I hope you like it :D May you have the best holiday and a wonderful year ahead.
if you could travel back in time to witness an event in person, which event would you choose?
Oh man, good question.
Honestly, I’m uncertain. The fall of Berlin’s wall, perhaps? Also probably some smaller things, like being there to know what the heck Ovid did to be exiled. Finding out which was the last place where a manuscript copy of the Divine Comedy was hidden/stored away.
