#fusterlandia is a community created by world renowned artist #josefuster during the #specialperiod depression when food consumption was cut to 1/5 its previous level and the average Cuban lost 20 lbs. With the famine Cubans had to resort to cooking orange and banana peels to feed their families. As a result, children who grew up in the '90s are smaller in stature than previous generations due to malnutrition. And through it all, José Fuster was still able to create this beautiful community art.
