"Just leave I don't need you."

Quill opened his mouth to continue speaking, but came to a dead stop at the prince’s words. His lips formed a tight line across his face and his eyes appeared glazed, yet sorrowed. Perhaps Komali just needed some time alone.

"As you wish." The older Rito responded with a nod, heading to the door.

"I miss her."

Quill sighed and placed his hand on the prince’s shoulder. “I know.”

♒ - a secret that’s obvious

Quill sometimes takes longer to complete his delivery route than others, mostly because he sometimes gets lost in the scenery (as well as wandering islands gathering information). He’s been flying for years but there are times where he really just looks around and thinks ‘wow this is gorgeous…’. If he’s flying with others they notice he becomes aloof and they snap him back to reality before he flies into a mountain. When they do he’ll get flustered about his detached-ness & being strayed from his duties and mumbles some excuse about how he thought he saw something suspicious but they know

☼ - a person who knows most of the muses secrets

The chieftain is someone he’s very honest with, quick to confess things that he would feel a hanging guilt over if he kept it from him. The chief trusts him greatly, and he feels it’s only fair if he returned that. Quill would also tell Komali a few of his secrets, hoping that confessing something of his would make the prince open up to him more.

"What do you need?" Quill asked the young prince.

"…Yeah, but you have to have a certain amount of strength…. to be a good leader, right?" he muttered nervously. "How am I supposed to be cheiftan if I can’t fly well yet?"

"Not everyone gets it right away, Komali." He explained, crossing his arms. "There's some who adjust quickly, and those who may take weeks or even months to do so. It doesn't mean they're bad or slow or weak."

"I wish that I was stronger."

Quill’s ears perked, and he looked over to the prince with raised brows. “Strength isn’t always measured physically, Komali. People can be strong in other ways.”

"I can't sleep."

Quill paused and turned to the young prince, raising a brow. “Why? What’s wrong, Komali?”

Quill applied some disinfectant, which was just a bottle of water, salt, and vinegar, to a cloth and dabbed it gently onto the boy’s exposed scrape. He stayed dead silent, knowing the boy is tired of hearing the same lecture and the same teasing every time he gets a minor injury.
