So, this is actually super true. The early years of childhood are so crucial to brain development, habit forming, how people view themselves, their overall health, and learning. When children are exposed, even for a short period of time, to a positive influence it can actually give them a better chance at life. There is a reason that I’m working toward being an ECE and it’s a passion that I think a lot of my classmates share: we get a chance to be that positive influence. In supporting a child’s health both physically and mentally we are giving them a better chance as adults. When we help a young child to self-regulate and teach them problem solving skills, we are giving them a better chance at life. I know the ages 0-6 probably fly by for y’all parents (and others) but it’s such a crucial stage of development.
Every moment you have with a child is a chance to make a positive difference. Seriously guys, know this, live this.
