2020 Future Architecture
The Future Architecture Platform announced the final list of selected ideas, which will be presented at the 2020 Creative Exchange, taking place on 12 and 13 February 2020 at the Museum of Architecture and Design (MAO) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Future Architecture 2020 Call for Ideas received a record of 433 ideas from fifty-three different countries, and it welcomed over eight hundred applicants in individual and group applications.
The Creative Exchange consists of the Matchmaking Conference, Focus Talks and the Future Architecture Fair, and it is one of the most insightful annual gatherings about architecture, showcasing ideas and trends for the future development of the profession. The twenty-five creatives selected will be invited to the Matchmaking Conference together with guests from the international architecture field.
As part of the Creative Exchange, Future Architecture holds several Focus Talks featuring international and leading architects as keynote speakers: Mariana Pestana, architect and curator of the Istanbul Design Biennial, Marina Otero Verzier, architect and director of research at Het Nieuwe Instituut, Léa-Catherine Szacka, an architect, historian and critic and Thomas Geisler, design curator and cultural producer, curator of the twenty-sixth Biennial of Design, BIO 26| Common Knowledge. The highlight of the fair is the Pitch Cocktails, an evening event that is part of the official program, where all the fair participants will introduce themselves and their work in short five-minute public presentations.
During the Creative Exchange, the Future Architecture Fair will provide a forum for architects and architecture offices, institutions, producers, curators and other professionals to present their projects, connect and collaborate, and stay up to date on the latest developments in architecture.
