Today at FuzionFest...

So today I went to a small comic-con inside a game/book/music/general geekery store. Among the attendees that liked my Pokemon breeder cosplay was one large fellow of indeterminate age who asked, “Are you dressed as a trainer?” “Yeah, well, a Pokemon breeder to be more specific.” “Cool, cool. Right on.” He proffered his fist for a bump, which I obliged. He continued: “I miss when Pokemon was still low key back in the day, when it was just me and my friends that knew about it, ya know? Now it seems like it’s gone global.” I was a tad confused. “You mean in 1998?” I said, recalling the early days of the fad stateside when I was in fourth grade. But then of course he said this, as if he belonged in an Our Valued Customers comic panel: “Nah, that’s when I was born!”

If anyone needs me, I’ll be taking a long hot shower with my clothes on, followed by an evening spent with all my games and trinkets that are now older than high school graduates! …When does my AARP card arrive?

#fuzionfest earlier today with Josh & no picture Emma. It was nerd heaven! 😍 now onto the food truck fest!
