I thought I would carve a little slice of time out of my hectic Tuesday morning to post a song from, local band, *Geronimo! Do we have a show coming up with the band? No. I find this song to be an amazing song from an amazing album released by an amazing local band and feel that it is worth sharing.
Can I step onto my soapbox for a minute? Thanks.
There are so many shitty local bands these days, maybe more than ever. I feel like I am extremely qualified to make such a strong statement. As a talent buyer / promoter, I spend a good majority of my day, every day, sifting through the variable landfill of solicitations that we receive from local bands. Most days we receive 60 to 70 e-mails from local bands, 85% of these bands are just awful.
In summation, I think it is important to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the local bands that are making meaningful, honest, genuine music. I hope to use this blog as a vehicle to share some of the 'choice' music that Team Kickstand is jamming in our office.
