Hot take: You can, in fact, be a casual fan of something. AND THAT’S OK! Love the MLP characters but have only seen like two episodes of the show? That’s cool! Think the Spiderman aesthetic is rad without having read any of the comics? That’s cool! Only ever played Sonic Forces, but you still love Sonic the Hedgehog? That’s cool! Make fanart and write fanfiction for fun but don’t feel like posting it or getting involved with a fandom? That’s cool! You don’t have to “prove” your a fan of something in order to enjoy it. Just enjoy it! 💜🦊
