Given that I was creating for an game I chose Jazz chords(I IV V) to keep things simple.
Initially I tried filled 12 bars I I V V I I V V IV IV V V However this did not fill up 30 seconds (12 bars was 22secs at 130bpm) and trying putting chords to complete it didn’t sound simple as I thought. So I reduced it further just to I V as baseline chords. For me these chords looped fell conventionally in the bar lines 17 1/4 bars === 30 sec. The quarter note being just the tonic, in this case C.
