So you remember how I drew Fv! Killer's cats yesterday? And how I said I was working on another drawing when I posted the Dream and Nightmare birthday drawing? Unless you're new or didn't see those posts, then you probably have no fucking clue what I'm yapping about. But either way, here's that drawing!

I drew some of the crew interacting with the cats! Along with Ruben and Princess curled up together being adorable.

Ruben looks so goofy being held like that by Dust. He's like a noodle. I also don't know how Princess is standing on Cross's arm like that but oh well. If I knew how to draw proportions properly, she'd be on his shoulder instead.

Kira looks hella pissed off that Princess (who I keep trying to call Layla for whatever reason as I'm typing this) is on Killer's lap. Kira has a bit of a jealousy and entitlement problem. She thinks that only she can get Killer's attention and that the other cats should screw off. She also refuses to bond with any of the others, unlike Moss who will actually give the others a chance.

Speaking of Moss, Nightmare is her favorite. She likes him better than Killer oddly enough because Nightmare usually ignores her, while Killer is always trying to get her to quit being such an antisocial kitty. He also has the warmest lap and he doesn't bother shooing her away. They'll just nap together in an armchair or on a couch or anywhere one can take a nice nap.

Ruben...well, Ruben is Ruben. He seems to like bothering Dust the most and Dust doesn't really know what to do with him. Also, Ruben is very much a stereotypical orange cat. No matter how sophisticated he may look with that long triangular face, he will always be as goofy as those big ass ears he's got on his head. His ridiculous antics puzzle Dust. It puzzles Dust more that he seems to be Ruben's favorite. He's given Ruben no reason to care about him...right? WRONG. Dust is the only one that pays attention to Ruben's antics and that makes him a target for the orange cat shenanigans.

As for Princess? Her favorite was Killer, but ever since Cross showed up, she's been all over him. And it freaks Cross out. Like, why is this cat so obsessed with him? What did he do? Well, he always looks nervous or paranoid about something, that's what. She bothers him so much because she thinks she can help him feel better. He's also the only one who will never shoo her away, no matter where he is or what he's doing. But that's mostly cuz he freezes up when she shows up. Which is also because she always comes out of nowhere, jumping out in front of him or onto him from what he can only assume to be the depths of the void.

Flighteningverse Week 2024 Day 5: Flight

Killer and Cross are having fun flying through the air. Once Killer grew his wings in and learned how to fly, he constantly wants to race the others.

So I did end up coloring my drawing for Novembmare Day 11, and I gave Nightmare a more realistic color design. I will probably go back and forth between the designs depending on what I feel like drawing, but I might do this one more often because I don't have to deal with coloring the line art. It also just looks nicer and more soft, which matches FV! Nightmare's personality better.

Novembmare Day 11: Family

I originally tried to make this like a tiny little animatic but I couldn't figure out how to pace it right so you're just getting the last frame instead lol I might clean it up and color it later.

"My brother may not...care for me anymore...but that's alright, these idiots are all the family I need." Nightmare thought peacefully to himself as he gave each of his teammates a pat on the head.

Explanation of their family dynamics below the cut!

Nightmare and Killer: In the main timeline, they are very close and consider themselves partners, but maybe not quite in a romantic sense? They aren't sure, they're figuring it out.

Nightmare and Dust: Dust kind of sees Nightmare as like an uncle maybe? Nightmare knows this, but he sees Dust as more of his son than a nephew.

Nightmare and Horror: Nightmare can't decide if he sees Horror as a son, a brother, or as one of those friends that's so close with a family that he gets included in all the family business, like family dinners or having his own account on the family's streaming services. Horror sees himself as the 3rd option to Nightmare.

Nightmare and Cross: Nightmare sees Cross as a son that he adopted because he was traumatized and needed someone to be there for him. Cross sees Nightmare as his safe place and a father figure.

Cross and Dust: Cross sees Dust as a brother in the same way he sees Reaper and *used to* see Ink as his brothers. Dust is teetering between calling Cross a brother or a close friend. He's been tilting more towards brother though, and has even started looking at Reaper as a potential brother too. He needs to spend more time with Reaper to really decide on that though.

Cross and Killer: Cross kind of sees Killer as his mom, partly because of his relationship with Nightmare and partly because he seems to act like one sometimes. Killer sees Cross as family but hasn't put a specific label on it yet. He isn't aware of what Cross thinks of him as, but if he does find out, he'd choose to call Cross his son.

Cross and Horror: Cross is...a bit intimidated by Horror and hasn't made a lot of effort to get to know him yet. He's also the newest member so he hasn't had a lot of time to try yet either. Horror would like to get to know Cross better but knows he intimidates him and doesn't want to make him uncomfortable by trying to interact with him on a closer level.

Horror and Dust: They are practically brothers. They do pretty much everything together, missions, video games (on the rare occasion that Horror will play any. He's not much of a gamer lol), etc. Dust will often look to Horror first when he needs comfort and will sneak into his room on nights that he can't sleep. (which is a lot of nights. Poor Dust :( ) Horror has learned to read Dust like a book and is always making sure he's okay.

Horror and Killer: They're good friends. They haven't really put any family labels on each other, but do count one another as part of their family.

Killer and Dust: Killer sees Dust as his best friend. Dust was the 2nd member of the team after him, so they've known each other the longest. Dust also sees Killer as his best friend but has been kind of drifting away as of recent due to how close he's been getting to Cross and Horror. Killer has noticed and it makes him a little sad, but he tries to remind himself that Dust is happy, and that's what's important.

Annnnd here's the last of the Bad/Dark Sanses: Horror and Cross. No, Error is not part of either the Bad Sanses or the Dark Sanses.

Dark Sans Cross. He's the newest member of Nightmare's team. He didn't actually go through the X-Event, that was Chalk (I will go ahead and call him that for now just to differentiate the two). His version of the X-Event had been stopped before it could escalate too far, no one wanted to go through it a second time. Nightmare ended up getting to him before Corrupted, which was the main factor in preventing a second X-Event. Cross still has a lot of trust issues and can still be aggressive, but Nightmare has been working with him and he's been slowly getting better. He tends to get pretty restless, always fearing that even though his X-Event was stopped, XGaster may still find a way to make his life hell, and he tries to deal with this restlessness by guarding the castle. If he's not out on a mission, he's patrolling the castle halls. Nightmare is trying to find a way for him to break this habit as it's affected his sleep schedule greatly. Splatter and Reaper are his adoptive brothers, and he also sees Dust as his brother. He's also trying to get his parents to officially adopt Dust into the family too.

As for Chalk, I'm actually going to put a few headcanons on him too. He's not part of the Bad Sanses, but he's not part of The Stars either. Not yet, anyway. He's been debating it. He's as aggressive and distrusting as canon Cross is, but wants to learn to trust again. He's just terrified of being used and manipulated for another time. He wishes things could be normal for once and cries about it at least 5 times a week. His mental health has been thrown into a ditch essentially. He hates Corrupted and Ink's guts, and is slowly trying to rekindle his friendship with Epic, he feels bad about not remembering who his old friend is.

Now for Horror. Horror is a member of the Dark Sanses and is the team's cook, and he hates people going into "his" kitchen. He can be a bit of an asshole but is very caring towards his teammates. Despite the famine issue being solved in his au, Horror still doesn't eat. He can't eat, he's gone so long without food that his body would reject anything he puts in his mouth at this point. He's still as smart as canon Horror (who's as smart as Classic because he was a Classic at one point) but does sometimes struggle with short-term memory loss. One fanon thing that I have kept for my version of Horror is that he's big, strong and scary. (Also just noticed that Cross looks much bigger than Horror in the drawing. This is not true. Cross is bigger than Dust and Killer, but not bigger than Horror)

As for Terror, he's also supposed to be as canon as possible. Only reason he joined the Bad Sanses was because Corrupted promised to help fix his au (although he probably would've forced Terror to join anyway), but he has not yet fulfilled his side of the agreement and never plans to. Also, logic actually works on Terror, so he's actually really scrawny like he should be. I honestly don't think I've ever seen someone actually try to depict him as such. Doesn't mean that no one else has though.

I finally have proper designs for Chalk and Cross!

Aren't they cool? (I absolutely love how Chalk's Fauna-form came out! I don't think I've ever drawn something with such a cool edginess to it before.)

Starting with Chalk. 1st off, I wanna explain why his name is Chalk because he actually has a good reason for the name change and I also don't remember if I've done that yet.(unlike most of the others lol). Chalk is the original "Cross" in Faunaverse. He's the one who experienced the events of Xtale and Underverse in full. Chalk is ALSO what Jakei was originally going to name him I believe. (I saw it in a Cross Sans wiki anyway, and those aren't always accurate) So I figured I'd give the "original" Cross the concept name and give the "new" Cross the current name.

Now, you may have also noticed there's a big style difference between the 2 of them. Chalk has sharper facial features and more defined bones. But then Cross looks rounder, softer and less defined.

Cross did not get to go through the whole X-event thing. His au was destroyed but that's as far as he got. He doesn't have the trauma of being used and manipulated like some dog, so he's a lot nicer and more friendly and not so distrusting of and aggressive towards other people. That's why he looks so much softer.

But Chalk did go through the entirety of the X-event and whatnot (which goes as far as the current Underverse story goes. I won't be trying to make up my own continuation of it because I'm not much of a writer lol) and does have all that trauma. So the edgier, sharper appearance represents his edgier, more trauma-driven personality. He's also a little more mature. He also has those cracks over his eye just cuz I thought it would look cool. I'll figure out where he got them from later. He also won't be receiving any extra clothing items unless they appear in Underverse because while I do have more headcanons shoved onto him compared to others like Blade, Murder, etc. I do still want to be relatively faithful to the design at the least.

For some more details on Cross's design, I gave him that extra purplish gray coloring because while I do love his mostly black and white design, when it's me trying to color him, the lack of color bothers me a little. So therefore I gave him extra color. It also helps to ensure that people can tell the difference between him and Chalk (whose outfit sticks to the regular black and white only.). I am a bit iffy on the purplish grey, I mainly can't decide if it looks better with the scarf being that color or if the jacket being that color works better.

I'm pretty sure I covered their personalities when I made their warrior cat designs, though I may have accidentally retconned a few things? Specifically regarding Cross and what happened with his story. I don't remember what all I wrote in that post so who knows. But I won't talk much about their personalities here because of that. Oh, also, Chalk still has his daggers and Cross still has the hack knife. Xchara also still bothers him from time to time.

Another thing, the reason why there's another Cross is because XGaster wanted to try starting from scratch (while still focusing on the original project) to see if things would turn out better (and if he could consider abandoning the original project for the new one). Unfortunately for him, they didn't. Not only did most events end up happening the same way, but the X-event was also prevented from happening because Nightmare snatched Cross up before Corrupted could.

It'll mostly stick to regular drawings and mini-comics. Maybe animations if I ever actually make the effort to really start practicing with it. Also also, I do have a Swap design in progress too. I have the sketch finished, (made it around the same time that I made the Chalk and Cross sketches) I just have to redraw it digitally and color it.
